As the only Asian nation to never have been colonized or occupied by Western powers, Thailand offers a unique blend of ancient culture and modern industry. Cal Poly students have been studying at Chiang Mai University in Northern Thailand since 1995.
Students will study and obtain 12 units of Cal Poly credit on this exciting 6-week program. The group will travel to local sites in and around Chiang Mai, including a Hill Tribe visit, with excursions to Bangkok and the Golden Triangle.

Meet the Professors
|Stacey Rucas is an anthropologist with extensive training in cultural, biological and behavioral diversity of humans. Dr. Rucas led the Cal Poly in Thailand Summer 2013 program and also taught several years on the Cal Poly at Sea program. Dr. Rucas will be teaching HUM 310 and ANT 345. |Chris Dicus is the Faculty Fellow in the Office of the Provost, whose teaching and research focuses on wildfires.
